Sometimes my radio decides displaying in English is too boring and then displays in hieroglyphs.

My Wingdingian is pretty rusty, but I think it says you should be glad for a double DIN HU that can be replaced easily.

So this is actually the warranty replacement for the original HU. The original one got replaced because it didn’t play the audio from bluetooth calls and only occasionally played music over bluetooth. This one played music over bluetooth, but no blue tooth calls...until suddenly a couple weeks ago bluetooth calls started working again!
“ WTF” ...its what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

You’re right ... mostly. There is an implication that not only you should be glad but that the use of the double din size is as the universe needs it to be.

I can read that. It says “
Come and see the violence inherent in the system!”

No matter what my FiST’s infotainment says, what I know it means is “you should have waited for a model without MyFordTouch”

If you put that nickelback CD in me one more time, I will burn your car to the ground.

Mine will sometimes just start playing music during call audio simultaneously over Bluetooth. I’m sure this is a problem with the Subaru HU but it’s also odd that the phone allows it to happen.

I feel your pain. This is a 2015 that I bought for a good price as the 2016s were going to start hitting dealer lots in a couple months. On e of the upgrades of the 2016 is that the touchscreen unit would come standard.
I declined to wait as I was impatient and also I felt like the touchscreen unit was more likely to go bad...

Bluetooth is a tool of Satan. It starts as a good idea but even at the best of times, works at about 75% of expectations.

Subaru head units are pretty much the shittiest of the shitty. I got mine pared with my phone, then my wifes phone. Then it dropped my phone and eventually stopped working with my wifes phone. 4 months later it randomly started working with my wifes phone again, but still doesn’t work with my phone.
I take it to the dealer and they service advisor sets it up again as said he does this several times a day.
Since it’s a double DIN I see an alpine in your future.

It's a shame, the older nakamichi head units were great

the new Sony XAV-AX5000 is the first one I’ve used which I didn’t immediately regret buying. it’s geared mostly for CarPlay/AA but still has 2 USB inputs, BT, and the input for the SXM tuner. The user interface is rather plain which I like, compared to everyone else’s laggy, jumbled, overly flashy pile of shit.

I put an alpine in my impreza around 2006 or so and it was fantastic. Maybe they are shit now.
